How to measure instruments
The following measuring definitions can help you choose the right instruments for your needs: Length Length is measured in a straight line from the bottom of the instrument to the tip farthest away (A). On curved and angled instruments, the length is determined by a line drawn from the bottom of the instrument to the tip farthest away (B) . Jaw length In clamps, the usable portion of the jaw is measured in a straight line to the bottom of the serrations (C). On partial occlusion clamps, the jaw length and jaw depth are measured as illustrated (D).
